Adopt-A-Highway
Iowan’s have a strong history of not depending on government. They often ask what can we do to help – one of those ways is to help in keeping public areas clean and attractive through the idea of taking on a certain level of responsibility for cleaning up or making the areas attractive – it is often called “Adoption”. The one adoption program that has a great deal of recognition is the Iowa Department of Transportation highway adoption program.
