As teachers across Iowa "go green," we'll feature their work in this section of the Web site. We hope that you'll let us know about your experiences with Clean and Green, and with other approaches to keeping Iowa beautiful. Send your ideas, successes and failures to Martha McCormick, and we'll feature them here.
- The Waste Commission of Scott County and the Davenport Community School District drew from Clean and Green to put together this Second Grade unit. The Waste Commission provided kits for all of the second grade classrooms in the district, containing all of the resources necessary for the program. Download the Davenport version of Clean and Green here.
- These 20 lessons compose a plan for a children's gardening unit. The Gardening Pacing Guide draws from Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade levels of Clean and Green, and is designed especially for after-school programs. The activities teach essential concepts from the Iowa Core, and provide hands-on activities for days when groups can't work in the garden.
- Service Learning Unit--The first featured program is a sequence of 9 lessons that fit together to compose a service learning unit. It will be a great guide for 21st Century Learning Centers, and anyone who wants to involve kids in a quality service experience.
