Bob Byers (1939-2006)

The Robert E. Byers Scholarship Fund has been established by Keep Iowa Beautiful and the Byers Family of northwest Iowa in memory of former teacher and KIB education consultant, Bob Byers.

These scholarships will support students enrolling in an Iowa college or university with studies in the environment, community services, conservation, public service or government, nonprofit management, landscape architecture, architecture (historical emphasis) or community planning.

Applicants with a strong background in community service and/or community enhancement will be ranked higher in the selection process. Local matching funds for student applications will be encouraged to leverage available funds and to increase local community involvement.

To make a donation to the Byers Scholarship Fund, please print or download the two documents below and mail to the KIB office.  Only checks are acceptable for donations (please do not make a donation on-line).  All donation checks should be made payable to the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation.
